Everybody, even the office nerd is following a fashion. Fashion is a part of all our lives. It would be a denial of the truth to say that a person was not affected by fashion at all.
Yet, at the workplace, fashion can become a minefield that needs careful treading. Becoming a fashion victim at the workplace can at best be slightly embarrassing or at worst get you fired! The following list is meant as an advisory for our lovely ladies:
1. Don’t show your colleagues more than they want to see:
The latest fashion on the street should be kept there. Make sure you adhere to a strict non revealing fashion statement in the workplace.
2. Tattoos and piercings are not for the office:
While getting a tattoo or piercing is a personal choice, displaying it at office is a fashion faux pas that could have serious repercussions
3. The office is not a nightclub:
Often an employee has to go clubbing straight from work. For these situations, just changing accessories and changing your makeup can be more than enough. Avoid wearing a LBD(little black dress) to work
4. How short is too short:
If you have to ask then it probably is too short anyway. A knee length high skirt or dress is very apt for office wear. A half inch higher can be allowed, but only if you have the legs for it.
5. Jeans and T shirts:
Ok, so we all know what Friday dressing is but let’s not forget that it really means semi-formal wear. Round collar t-shirts and short body hugging t-shirts are a big no-no. So are tattered and ripped jeans.
There are many other severe fashion mistakes we make on a daily basis but an effort to avoid these mistakes at least for the workplace is important.
