Fashion Trends to look forward in 2015

Welcome 2015 with some all new fashion trends. Today we bring to you 8 biggest trends that will takeover in 2015. Follow along, some may surprise you – but remember you heard it first from us.

1. Get on the Tassels
While the last season was all about fringe, 2015 will see a lot of colorful tassels.

2. It’s Transparent
Spring is all about sheer, but this season we’ll see the oh so transparent skirts and shirts!

3. POLO Day
POLO t-shirts tucked inside pants and skirts will make a huge comeback in spring 2015.

4. The Waist Flourish
Pants and skirts lending some extra drama and fabric on the waist area will be seen topping the trend charts this season.  Pair these with cropped tops or tank tops to make a statement

5. Suede Baby
We have been conditioned to believe that leather is now a staple of colder months, but designers are softening up a bit and using it for summer apparels.

6. Mismatched Earrings: Mismatched studs and drops are the coolest way to dress your lobes. Go on and take the challenge

7. Jeanius: Gone are the days when denim was only used for jeans and jackets. This season will see a growing trend of Denim dresses, jumpers and skirts.

8. Fresh Crop: Crop tops would still rule the fashion world but this time in  a less daunting form. Boxy crops(shown in the picture below) look more lady like than their skimpy counterparts

8 Fashion habits ruining your style!

Think you are fashionable? Think again! You may look fabulous, but are your style choices worth the pain and damage to your health? Today we’ll talk about long-held habits you refuse to break, fashion clichés you still believe are true, and small things you’re avoiding—or doing—that can wreak havoc on your personal style.

You buy the same size for all clothes:

Sizing can vary tremendously according to store, brand, and item.
Don’t sweat the number—pay attention to how things look on your body instead.

You think tall women shouldn’t wear heels:

This mandate isn’t only silly, but a little sexist, too. Stemming from a whole bunch of antiquated notions including abundant height isn’t feminine, and a woman shouldn’t draw extra attention to herself, this rule is one no woman should ever follow if they don’t want to.

You think sweatshirts are strictly casual wear:

Once strictly for athletes, gym-goers, and errand-runners, the humble sweatshirt has risen to become a very stylish staple.

You think jeans should be washed as much as your other clothing:

Raw denim can take up to six months to break in and shouldn’t be washed until then. Why? Jeans really do conform to our bodies, and when you wash them, most of the shape is lost. To zap odors, hang them in the bathroom while you’re showering or freeze them in a plastic bag for a day or two.

You think high-waist pants are always unflattering:

When worn correctly, they can trick the eye into thinking you’re taller and leaner by elongating your lower body. The most slimming item to choose are slightly high-rise slim-fitting jeans that hit your ankle, or simple high-black black trousers.

You think sequins can’t be worn during the day:

A modern trick to looking like the most effortlessly stylish girl on the street: Pair dressy bottoms like a beaded skirt, or sequin pants) with casual staples like a white shirt, a gray crew-neck sweatshirt, or a black blazer. Likewise, choose tops with sequin detailing, and pair them with boyfriend jeans.

You think denim on denim is a fashion don’t:

The trick is to pair pieces of varying washes together, such as a light denim shirt with dark denim jeans, or a dark denim jacket with a light-wash pair of boyfriend jeans.

You believe shorts have no place on the fall and winter:

There’s something incredibly cool and fuss-free about rocking a pair of shorts in the winter paired with opaque black tights and ankle booties. Stay away from shorts in summery fabrics like eyelet and cotton, but go ahead and rock shorts made from  leather, wool, jacquard, even denim cutoffs, which offer a nice change of pace from skirts when paired with boots, tights, and a chunky sweater come fall and winter.

10 Fashion tips every girl should know

When it comes to fashion tips, it sometimes seems that everyone and their mother (literally!) has tried-and-true advice they absolutely swear by. Some are useful, while others … well, not so much. With that in mind, we’ve culled 10 fashion tips from the best: designers, lifestyle experts and, of course, our staff. Trust us: With these gems, you’ll be well on your way to living your most stylish life.

1. Wash new jeans twice before taking them to the tailor. Why? Because jeans will always shrink in length when washed.

2. The secret to well-fitting everyday clothes is Lycra. The formulas to look for: 95% cotton/5% Lycra spandex for T-shirts, and at least 2% Lycra for jeans to hold their shape.

3.  Always organize your clothes going light to dark from left to right in your closet. Your eye will follow the color and thus help you stay organized.

4. Cut down your closet by 25% by asking yourself this one question: “If I were shopping right this second, would I buy this?” If the answer’s no, out it goes.

5. Dressy occasions aren’t the time to play with trends, so know your silhouette and stick to it to always look your best.

6. Revamp an old coat by swapping out the buttons and having a tailor replace the lining with something eye-catching, like a pattern or a bright color.

7. Break in stiff or too-snug shoes by slipping them on with socks and blasting your feet with a hot hairdryer.

8.  Ideally, a pencil skirt should hit just at the top of your knee. Any lower and it will start to shorten your leg.

9. Pants a bit too tight? Let them air dry and stretch the waistband by hand (or with a hairdryer) while they’re still damp.

10. Still look chic while showing some skin: If you’re wearing a miniskirt or shorts, cover up on top. If your top is skimpy, go for full-coverage bottoms.

5 Tips to Shop During Sale!

It's possibly the best feeling for any fashion lover - that moment when you find that item you've wanted at half price. It’s easy to be tempted by a low price tag and end up with clothes that you will probably never wear. Read our top tips to make sure you make the most of the end of the season sales.

Stick to the basics
If you stick to the staple pieces you can't go wrong. Invest in timeless, well-cut dresses, jackets and trousers, without any obvious references to current trends. You'll then be able to wear them season after season.

Update classics with accessories
Accessories are the quickest and most affordable way to update an existing outfit. Look out for quality belts, necklaces, bags and shoes. Use these accessories to bring in transient seasonal trends and create classic looks with a contemporary twist.

Think big
It is better to buy something which is slightly large, on the basis that you can customise it or a tailor can alter it to fit you, rather than waste money on something slightly small in the belief that one day you will fit into it.

Take stock of your wardrobe
Before heading out to the sales, take stock and assess your wardrobe. Note the items which need replacing. Then, while shopping, use the list to keep focused, and stop you getting carried away and purchasing things on a whim that you don't need, or won't work with the rest of your wardrobe

Plan your trip to the sales
Make a list what you need and the shops you can get these from. Get there early to be sure you don't miss out. Or avoid the crowds and scrambling through the rails altogether and shop the sales from the comfort of your bed!

How to wear a Jumpsuit

Maybe it’s the ’70s in us, but we are all aboard the jumpsuit bandwagon. Jumpsuits are everywhere right now, but they can be a little intimidating if you’ve never worn one before. Don’t be nervous! We have some fabulous tips for you to master the art of wearing a jumpsuit.

Highlight your waist:
A slouchy, straight-up-and-down jumpsuit can be cool too, but cinching in the waist is a great way to define your shape add a little extra femininity to your look. Belts are the best way to do so.

Break it up:
Break up that big block of color with a lightweight jacket. Leave it open to elongate your body or wear it on your shoulders for some instant street-style cred.
Glam it up:
Jumpsuits are just as good for evening as they are for day, especially when worn with glitzy metallic accessories and a sleek tuxedo jacket.

Choose the right print:
Polka dots, florals, hearts, kisses, whatever. A good, feminine print can make even the most masculine silhouette look totally girly. Also, backless is always feminine.

Go ahead, experiment and dress up in style this summer. Shop for some trendy and fashionable jumpsuits at your nearest Madame store. Check out our website for online shopping www.madameonline.com

Makeover Tips for Girls

Does a make-over seems like a big deal? Well then ladies, have no fear. Our 5 easy, breezy steps will help you reinvent yourself from blah to WOW!

I: Know Thy Self

The one most important thing is to know yourself. So, before you hop onto the makeover wagon find out who you really are. Firstly, find out what is your body type. Not knowing the exact body type is a major crux. Start with getting to know your body: type, structure and self comfort zone. Find out you assets and more importantly your flaws. Once you have ‘figured’ out yourself, the rest will follow.

II: To Buy or not to Buy?

“Oh God, today I splurged like crazy on an awesome dress”, does this ring a bell with ya? Well, we all have been there, done that and thoroughly enjoyed it. While making-over we need to stop spending, splurging, indulging and start investing. Fashion, like any other long term plan is an investment. It pays off in the long run. Choose carefully keeping the 3 F’s of fashion- FIT, FABRIC and FINISH- in mind. And most importantly, before you buy you must TRY! Once, twice, thrice, try it on till you are satisfied.

III: I'll Have What She's Having...

No, Never, Ever!
For one thing fashion is all about individuality and for another, no two people are alike. If your BFF is rocking a 60’s Mod dress or a flowing maxi skirt, does not mean you too will rock it. Be Original. Be You!

IV: What Lies Beneath!

As the famous saying goes, behind every successful man is a woman, similarly in the world of fashion, hidden beneath ever successful outfit, are very very good and supporting undergarments. The CORRECT undergarment goes a long, very long way in making or breaking a look

V: Not Without My Accessories

Accessories and make-up give us a helping hand. Thanks to stylish accessories- be it statement jewellery or metallic clutch or colourful dupatta or scarf, belts, shoes ect...- an outfit can be worn more than once and still look fresh and new.
To add finishing touches to your makeover learn a few make-up tricks and trendy hairstyle.
